As part of a new initiative to revitalize the Old City of Hebron, the Hebron Rehabilitation Committee (HRC) is offering open-air screenings of the immensely popular Syrian TV series “Bab Al-Hara” at the Bab Al-Baladiyya square every remaining night of the month of Ramadan.

This is the first public outdoor activity in the Old City for years.

More than 200 people came to the opening night, when the new initiative, called HRC’s Economic Plan (Amar ya bladi), also was launched. The TIPH supported the event by serving traditional Ramadan drinks and sweets to the participants.

— We are very happy to see the Old City revived during Ramadan, especially in the evenings. This initiative corresponds well with the TIPH mandate, which tasks us to assist efforts intended to restore normal life in the City of Hebron, says Community Relations Officer Nicola Mohler.
