Tony Blair visits TIPH

Tony Blair, the Mideast envoy for the Quartet, visited Hebron and the Temporary International Presence on the 10th of October. He was briefed on the current situation in Hebron and expressed his appreciation for the work TIPH does in the city. (Hebron 10.10.2007)

Tony Blair, the Mideast envoy for the Quartet, visited Hebron and the Temporary International Presence on the 10th of October. He was briefed on the current situation in Hebron by the TIPH and Dr. Ali Qawasmi, chairman of the Hebron Rehabilitation Committee.

– Hebron is a city of special importance, it is a city with unique problems and we welcome the opportunity to brief the envoy, Karl-Henrik Sjursen Head of Mission for TIPH says.

Mr. Blair has a central advisory role in the upcoming conference on Peace in November.

– Without a solution to the issue of Hebron there are small chances for a wider solution to the conflict, Karl-Henrik Sjursen Head of Missionfor TIPH says. I believe that TIPH as an objective observer can play a role in such a solution.
