On the 20 September 2015 TIPH participated in the opening ceremony of the renovated schools in Tareq Bin Ziad which TIPH supported the renovation of. Through the cooperation with Al Mahawer Charitable Society and Hebron Municipality, three schools in the Tariq Bin Ziad area were renovated in time for the school start at the end of August. The three schools are Hebron Basic, Al Noorayen, Hajirriya School and located near the Tareq Bin Ziad square.
The square is an important area for a socially active TBZ neighbourhood, located in H2, close to the Old City of Hebron. In addition to the TBZ Community Center, the neighbourhood is home to six boys and girls schools. Through this project, TIPH will finance the infrastructural upgrade of three schools for students to profit from a more educational-friendly environment. The renovation will include rewiring of the electrical network, re-painting of walls and ceiling, re-tiling and refurbish of doors and windows.
– TIPH is proud to contribute to the TBZ community and as TIPH’s Head of Mission, I am particularly grateful to theMinistry of Education, Al Mahawer Charitable Society, HIRN, the contractors, Governor Office, Hebron Municipality as well the teachers and members of the local communityall of whom have contributed in an important way to the completion of the project, said TIPH Head of Mission at the opening ceremony.
TIPHhas patrolled in the TBZ neighbourhood for many years and also witnessed the difficult conditions for the schools as well as for the students. A good education and happy childhood is fundamental to a prosperous life. This is also why TIPH, previously in cooperation with the Hebron Municipality has funded the TBZ sport complex in 2011 and the TBZ football yard in 2013. With the opening of these renovated schools,TIPH continues to show support and hopefully this will further strengthen and sustain TIPH’s relationship with the Tareq Bin Ziad area and its inhabitants and TIPH believe that investing time in improving these schools will not only benefit the students and teachers but also contribute to a good neighbourhood which is vital for a vibrant and sustainable society in Hebron.
