TIPH participates in the opening ceremony of sport arena

On 19 May 2014, the Mayor of Hebron, Dr. Dawoud Al-Zatari, and TIPH Head of Mission, Christine Fossen, along with representatives of Tariq Bin Ziad Club and a group of TIPH members participated in the opening ceremony of the newly rehabilitated sport arena in Tariq Bin Zaid area.

On 19 May 2014, the Mayor of Hebron, Dr. Dawoud Al-Zatari, and TIPH Head of Mission, Christine Fossen, along with representatives of Tariq Bin Ziad Club and a group of TIPH members participated in the opening ceremony of the newly rehabilitated sport arena in Tariq Bin Zaid area.

TIPH supports a wide range of projects aiming at improving the welfare of the local community. The Tariq Bin Ziad Sports Arena is one of the TIPH’s VAT projects. By constructing new sports facilities and developing the existing ones, TIPH aims to provide the citizens of Hebron and particularly the inhabitants of Tariq Bin Ziad area a place for sport activities. The project includes the construction of an artificial grass football playfield and a multipurpose playground for basketball and volleyball.

– It is with great pleasure that we are finally ready to declare Tariq Bin Ziad Sports Arena operational, announced TIPH Head of Mission, Christine Fossen, in her speech. TIPH in cooperation with the Municipality of Hebron and the local community has devoted a lot of efforts to improve and normalize the life in the Tariq Bin Ziad area and H2. TIPH has increased the number of patrols in the area and has supported projects in the field of sport, health, art, media, education and environment, said TIPH Head of Mission.

– We would like to thank TIPH for their continuous support, said the Mayor of Hebron, Dr. Dawoud Al-Zatari. This project will improve the daily life of Palestinians in H2 area. It will also contribute to unleash the potential of young Palestinians.

The opening ceremony was followed by a friendly football match between TIPH members and a team from the Hebron Municipality on the newly rehabilitated Tariq Bin Ziad Sports Arena.
