Hebron 24.04.2006: Temporary International Presence in Hebron (TIPH) wishes to express its concern for the wellbeing of the Palestinians, and wishes to remind the people of its commitment to create a feeling of security and ease the life conditions among the People of Hebron in the difficult situation they are facing daily.

The Head of Mission, Arnstein Overkil, and the six member countries of TIPH have strongly expressed their wish to continue their efforts to help the People of Hebron, and have decided that TIPH shall resume its normal activities as soon as the situation permits such a development.

TIPH has during the last two months been working to strengthen its relationships with the People of Hebron, cooperating with all parts of the Hebron community such as the Governorate, the Municipality, the Waqf, the Heads of families, political leaders and schools. TIPH wishes to thank the authorities of Hebron, as well as the many groups and individuals for their cooperation.

TIPH is now in the process of returning its personnel to its Head Quarters in Hebron. Due to the limited number of personnel currently present in the mission, TIPH is not fully operational yet. However, TIPH is strongly encouraged by the way it has been welcomed and received by the People of Hebron, and will restart its activities as soon as the number of personnel has been duly increased.

TIPH is looking forward to continuing working in partnership with the People of Hebron in the future.
