TIPH holding introduction course for twenty new mission members

On Monday 2nd of November 2009, Temporary International Presence in Hebron started an introduction course for incoming TIPH members. Twenty TIPH members will attend the course, which will last until Tuesday 10th of November.

On Monday 2nd of November 2009, Temporary International Presence in Hebron started an introduction course for incoming TIPH members. Twenty TIPH members will attend the course, which will last until Tuesday 10th of November.

 

The new TIPH members are from different background, such as police, academics, Hebrew and Arabic speakers. Some of them have been serving in TIPH in the past. During the introduction course the new TIPH members will be briefed about the TIPH mandate, the history of Hebron and current developments in the city. They will also receive lectures on the organizational structure of TIPH, the daily work of the mission, and the legal aspects of the TIPH’s work, human rights and international humanitarian law. Included also in the introduction course is gender mainstreaming issues, cultural codes, and practical workshops, as first aid lessons and report writing.

 

The incoming TIPH members will also be briefed by Palestinian Police Forces, the IDF and Israeli Police about their work and their cooperation with the TIPH.
