On 14 July 2015, the HRC organised a Fun Day at the Maraqa building near Waqf and HRC office for children. The Fun Day, which was funded by TIPH through a project run by HRC, included a clown show, a DJ playing music and other activities for the children.

To start the day off the clowns went around the Old Souq informing about the event and gathering children to join them in the festivities in the park by Maraqa.

– It was really great to join the clowns in the Old Souq and inviting the children to join us during the Fun Day, it’s a great way to make sure as many kids as possible can be a part of the activities in H2, said TIPH Nurse Emelie Bjällfalk.

Once back in the park over 90 children took part in the activities and the clowns started playing music and dancing with all the children. Afterwards all the children got to introduce themselves and their friends on stage with a microphone.

The introduction was followed by more dancing such as ring and snake dancing as well as bunny dancing. The clowns also entertained the children by making balloon animals and juggle with plates and balls. To end the Fun Day the clowns held a quiz where the children who answered the question right received a gift. Luckily, all the children got the questions right.

– This was such a great event and I think it was appreciated by the children too. The cooperation with HRC on the Fun Days are much appreciated by TIPH and we can see the positive effect it has on the children in H2, said TIPH Community Relation Officer Rafik Sundström.
