Swiss Minister of Foreign Affairs visits TIPH

Hebron 03.05.2013: Swiss Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Didier Burkhalter, together with representatives of the Swiss Embassy and the Head of the Swiss representative office in Ramallah, visited TIPH in Hebron.

Hebron 03.05.2013: Swiss Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Didier Burkhalter, together with representatives of the Swiss Embassy and the Head of the Swiss representative office in Ramallah, visited TIPH in Hebron. They met with the Head of TIPH Mrs. Christine Fossen for an introduction to the work TIPH performs in Hebron.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs also took part in a commemoration of the two TIPH members killed in 2002. A minute of silence was observed by the memorial at the TIPH head quarters.

During a visit to the old town of Hebron the Minister for Foreign Affairs was briefed on the current situation by members of TIPH. The delegation visited the Ibrahimi Mosque/Cave of Machpela, the Old Souq, al-Shallalah Street and passed through the Israeli checkpoint CP56.

The Minister left Hebron with what he described as lasting impressions, he expressed that he was convinced of the importance of TIPH’s work in Hebron and he is well aware of the challenges the mission faces in performing its work.
