On November 14, 2012, TIPH Head of Mission, Oddvar Midtkandal, received a delegation from Al-Ahli Hospital headed by Mr. Abdul-Kareem Al-Zughayyer, President of Patient’s Friends Society in Hebron, and Dr. Yousef Takruri, Head of HELP centre, who both expressed their gratitude for TIPH’s support of this new project and for a good cooperation in the past.

—More than 1600 persons have received training by the HELP training centre in the past six years, Dr. Takruri said. The support from TIPH is going to be used to finance part of the training of additional 300 medical personnel.

Oddvar Midtkandal, TIPH Head of Mission, was satisfied to hear that TIPH’s earlier support to the Al-Ahli hospital had been successful and explained:

—TIPH is pleased to be able to assist in efforts to promote stability, economic development, and the well-being of the Palestinian population of Hebron. Therefore, the Community Relations support a wide range of small-scale projects aiming at improving the welfare of the local community.

The HELP Centre – originally established with TIPH’s support – has in the past couple of years become a pioneer in the West Bank in building up the capacity of medical service providers through its training activities.
