Seven years since two TIPH observers were shot dead in Hebron

On 26th March 2009 TIPH commemorates the tragic deaths of two of its members. Seven years ago, Catherine Berruex from Switzerland and Turgut Cengiz Toytunç from Turkey were shot and killed on Bypass Road 35 just outside Hebron.

On 26th March 2009 TIPH commemorates the tragic deaths of two of its members. Seven years ago, Catherine Berruex from Switzerland and Turgut Cengiz Toytunç from Turkey were shot and killed on Bypass Road 35 just outside Hebron. Hüseyin Ozarslan from Turkey was injured.

 

A ceremony will be held at the TIPH headquarters in Hebron on Thursday 26th March 2009 in memory of our colleagues who died in the service of peace. Representatives from the TIPH member countries, the two parties and current TIPH staff will attend the ceremony.

 

TIPH and the six participating countries (Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Turkey, Italy and Switzerland) extend their thoughts to the families and friends of the victims.
