A team from European organisations, among them the TIPH, was close to beating a Palestinian team, with players from the Palestinian Authority, in a friendship game on Saturday.

The European—Palestinian friendeship game has already become a tradition, and so far, the Europeans have lost all games. Today, the European team, lead by Italian Gian Pietro Tostelin, put up a fierce competition and started the game with a vicious energy, but failed to produce results on the field. The Palestinians, under its captain, Hebron mayor Khaled Al-Osaily, led by 2—0 in half time.

The Europeans bounced back and gained initiative and could finish the game with a draw: 3—3. The score had to be settled through penalties, where the Palestinians proved stronger. Another defeat for the European team.

— Football is all about everyone playing the same game, regardless of creed, ethnicity or age. It was great fun to play tonight, in a warm and friendly atmosphere, said European Forward and TIPH Senior Legal Adviser Stefan Waespi during the prize ceremony after the game.
