Eleven new TIPH observers from the six contributing nations undergo currently an introduction course at the TIPH Head Quarters. The purpose of the course is to familiarise the new comers with TIPH’s mandate, its core activities and other relevant objects.

The new observers visited on Thursday downtown Hebron to get acquainted with the TIPH Area of Responsibility and to get a first impression of their future working environment.

— I look forward to getting a hands-on knowledge of the conflict and its people, and to developing my skills through cooperation with other professionals, says Hazel L Zimeri, who will work as an arab speaking observer.

The new observers are all experienced police professionals, skilled linguists or specialists in various other fields of expertise. Their skills will be an important contribution for TIPH’s work to observe and report on the situation in Hebron.
