The Temporary International Presence in Hebron (TIPH) opens a new toll free phone line for people in Hebron to call when they want to report an incident. Through the 1-800 100 600 number there is always an Arabic speaking international observer available.
– The phone will be open around the clock, Head of Mission Karl-Henrik Sjursen says, and we encourage people who are being harassed, attacked or had their rights violated, to report to TIPH.

– Reporting to TIPH might make a difference, Sjursen also says. It is our job to observe and report on violations in the city and forward these reports to the parties in the conflict. It is up to the parties to change the situation – we are the honest witness on the ground.

In addition to the new contact number, TIPH also have a new contact office in the heart of the Old City of Hebron, on Salah Al-Din Street, just next to the municipal square. It serves as a point of contact and offers a possibility for the residents in the Old City to reach TIPH more easily.

The office is open on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays between 1 pm and 4 pm. TIPH encourages people to visit the office.

– By establishing a point of contact where we are easily reached and by opening a new toll free phone line, we show our commitment to our task as observers and to the people of Hebron, Karl-Henrik Sjursen adds.
