For two weeks the girls have been trained in the whole process of pottery; from shaping a ceramic piece, to decorating and glazing, as well as exploring new techniques.

The course, funded by the TIPH, aims at teaching ceramics as a handcraft to girls who has an interest in pottery, and to keep a typical tradition from Hebron alive.

— The school focuses on pottery as a form of artistic expression and experimentation, and the course has given the students a chance to learn a local art tradition, so that it will not get lost, says TIPH Community Relations Officer Nicola Mohler.

The course was held in June at the Pottery Making School in Tareq Ben Ziad.
