Ibrahimi Mosque soup kitchen sponsored by TIPH

Meat and bulgur was 30th September served to the people in the Old City of Hebron by Deputy head of Mission, Mr. Alessandro Mappa of TIPH, together with other TIPH members.

by Deputy head of Mission, Mr. Alessandro Mappa of  TIPH, together with other TIPH members. Hundreds of people from the Old City of Hebron came yesterday to the soup kitchen in order to be served meat and bulgur sponsored by theTIPH.

600 kilos of meat and 150 kilos bulgur was served during 3 busy hours at the soup kitchen.

 ‘”This is a Ramadan gift to the people of the old city of Hebron,’ said Deputy Head of Mission, Mr. Alessandro Mappa, who helped serving food yesterday. “We are very happy to be able to help the people of Hebron in this way, especially in these difficult times.

Also last year the TIPH sponsored the Ibrahimi soup kitchen during Ramadan.

The soup kitchen is run by the Ministry of Waqf and Religious Affairs. According to its administration, more than 3000 persons can be expected to pick up food during one day’s serving in the soup kitchen, because of extra demand during Ramadan.

During Ramadan TIPH has a special campaign to bring back life, trade and not least people to the Old city of Hebron. Bakeries in the Old Souq have been sponsored with flour and smid, in order for these goods to be sold at a half price.
