TIPH and the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights OHCHR are co-organizing a writing competition in commemoration of the Human Rights Day. Both individuals and community based organisations are invited to participate.
Dominik Heinzer, Legal Adviser at TIPH, presented the idea in an interview with Radio Al-Hurriya in Hebron.
He explains that TIPH sees it as an opportunity to raise people’s awareness of their legal rights and it should also be seen as a part of the TIPH mandate. According to our mandate, TIPH has a responsibility to carry out legal information about fundamental rights and how to use the legal systems.
TIPH and OHCHR are now looking forward to receiving contributions from the participants. Individuals have to be between 15 and 25 years old. Organisations must be registered, non-profit, local organizations. The chosen topic has to be within the context of Hebron City and related to one of the following human rights:
1) Right to education
2) Women’s rights
3) Freedom of expression
The entries will be judged by a group of human rights experts according to their authenticity and relevance.
Please consult also http://www.tiph.org/en/Community_Relations/News/ for further instructions on the participation in the competition.
