At a ceremony September 6 the Mayor of Hebron, Dr. Daoud Zatari and TIPH Head of Mission Einar Johnsen signed an agreement about renovation of the schoolyard and playground of Al Fayha’a School.
– Through supporting a new playground for the girls in Al Fayha’a School, we want to provide the children with a more secure environment. The children shall be able to have fun in a safe schoolyard. All our school projects are organized in coordination with Hebron Municipality and the Directorate of Education, says Einar Johnsen, Head of TIPH.
The construction work is due to start in the middle of September.
TIPH has a long tradition of supporting schools and working for children and youth in Hebron. Children in H2 have to deal with special circumstances in their daily life like passing check points, and sometimes settlements on their way to school. Every morning TIPH tries to be present at checkpoints and on streets leading to schools with as many patrols as possible. This again, shall provide the children and youth with a more secure environment.
– The last two years, TIPH has financed the renovations of several schools in H2. We are proud to continue this support with the project here at Al Fayha’a School. Furthermore, for the beginning of this school year, we distributed notebooks, pencil cases and a cartoon about TIPH to three schools among them Al Fayha’a School, says Einar Johnsen, Head of TIPH Mission.
