A day just for fun was the message when TIPH and several of its partners invited all the children in the Old City to participate in a Fun Day at the parking lot of Hebron Rehabilitation Committee.

The boy scouts performed a drums and flag parade and local acrobats did somersaults. Hundreds of children came to, for example, have their faces painted. Cats, birds and flowers were the most popular motives and it was a great challenge for the TIPH observers to become artists for a day.

—We wanted to be painted as birds, said two twin boys. One girl wanted a flower on her arm and a small heart in her face, and they were all pleased to have their drawings done. Many children offered to paint the TIPH members in exchange.

The event ended with a soccer game and footballs were given to the children and two clowns were making everybody smile.

—I am very satisfied, said Nasrin Hoseini, Community Relations Officer and coordinator for the Fun Day. It has been very rewarding to see how a small effort can make such a big difference. As a grown-up it is easy to forget the pleasure of the little things which can spread so much joy.

The Hebron Municipality, the Hebron Rehabilitation Committee, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society and the Tareq Ibn Ziad Sports Club contributed to this Fun Day.
