Five years since two TIPH observers were shot dead in Hebron

On March 26, 2007 TIPH commemorates the tragic deaths of two of its members. Five years ago, Catherine Berruex from Switzerland and Turgut Cengiz Toytunç from Turkey were shot and killed on Bypass Road 35 just outside Hebron. Hüseyin Ozarslan from Turkey was injured. (Hebron 26.03.2007)

Commemoration in 2007Hebron 26.03.2007: On March 26, 2007 TIPH commemorated the tragic deaths of two of its members. Five years ago, Catherine Berruex from Switzerland and Turgut Cengiz Toytunç from Turkey were shot and killed on Bypass Road 35 just outside Hebron. Hüseyin Ozarslan from Turkey was injured.

A ceremony was held at the TIPH headquarters in Hebron on Monday 26th of March 2007 in memory of our colleagues who died in the service of peace.

Members of the families, Hüseyin Ozarslan, representatives from the TIPH member countries, Palestinian Authorities and current TIPH staff attended the ceremony.

The TIPH and the six participating countries (Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Turkey, Italy and Switzerland) extend their thoughts to the families and friends of the victims.
