Temporary International Presence in the City of Hebron

TIPH is a civilian observer mission in the West Bank city of Hebron. TIPH reports on breaches of the agreements on Hebron and human rights law, and presents its findings to the member countries and to the Palestinian and Israeli authorities.

 
 

What to take note of

Shuhada street in H2 in Hebron.Remember, that when you file a complaint with the police – the more detailed your complaint is, the more likely the police will start an investigation.

> The full and exact documentation of a violation is vital.

Note – if possible – and write in the complaint the following:
Identification of the suspect, his name if you know it, a description, including vehicle plates. Note the exact time of the incident and the exact location.

Describe the circumstances of the incident, including detailed description of injuries and damage. If possible, take pictures.

If people had guns, describe the weapons. If army and police were present, describe how they acted. Did they intervene? Did they protect the victim? How did they handle the aggressor?

Write down if there were other witnesses to the incident.

Before signing the statement at the police station, ask to read it or have it read to you. Ask the police for written authorization that the complaint has been processed. Keep a copy of the statement that was submitted.
