Temporary International Presence in the City of Hebron

If IDF Enters a Home

IDF soldier in the Old Souk in Hebron.IDF – as the occupying force – have the right to search homes if it required for security purposes or in order to maintain public order. If they are looking for weapons or wanted persons they can enter private homes.

> IDF do not have the right to enter and search houses using unnecessary violence.

IDF soldiers are obliged under law not to penalize civilians – which means that they are not allowed to punish people for any reason.

If IDF entered and searched your house, destroying property or threatening you and your family or stayed for a long time, you can file a complaint with the DCL.
