Temporary International Presence in the City of Hebron

The TIPH is an international civilian observer mission. The TIPH assists the parties in the normalisation of the situation in the city and reports on their efforts and the breaches of the agreements on Hebron and international law. TIPH reports to the Palestinian and Israeli authorities and to the six member countries.

 
 

Community Relations

The TIPH assists in the efforts to create stability in Hebron. A stable environment promotes better conditions for economic growth and a higher level of well-being for the Palestinian population.

The Community Relations supports a wide range of small-scale projects aiming at improving the welfare of the local community. The projects are implemented in cooperation with local non-profit organisations and institutions.

Vocational training for young men and women, first aid training programs for volunteers, as well as arts sports and theatre activities for children is among the projects the Community Relations are involved in.

Through visits to schools, universities and local organisations the Community Relations also provide information about the TIPH, its mandate and work in Hebron.

Furthermore, the Community Relations in cooperation with the TIPH Legal Advisers, launches legal awareness campaigns. These campaigns give Palestinians in Hebron information about their fundamental rights under international humanitarian law, human rights law as well as Israeli and Palestinian law.
