Temporary International Presence in the City of Hebron TIPH

 

TIPH is an international civilian observer mission. TIPH assists the parties in the normalisation of the situation in the city and reports on their efforts and the breaches of the agreements on Hebron and international law. TIPH reports to the Palestinian and Israeli authorities and to the six member countries.

 
 

Head of Mission Office

The Head of Mission and Deputy Head of Mission in the TIPH have the overall responsibility for the mission, as well as for the relations with both the Israeli and the Palestinian authorities.

The Political Adviser provides the Head of Mission with political updates and supports the mission's efforts to develop and improve its activities.

The Legal Advisers are responsible for assessing the TIPH's reports from the perspective of international humanitarian law, human rights law, and the agreements on Hebron.

The Liaison Officers are liaising with the Israeli and Palestinian Security Forces on a daily basis. They are serving as the focal points for strengthening the information flow between the mission, people living in Hebron and the relevant authorities.

Moreover, the Head of Mission's Office consists of the Secretary, who is assisting the Head of Mission.
