Kindergarten teachers at training.Hebron 08.12.2006: TIPH is currently sponsoring education and training for kindergarten teachers in the Tariq ibn Ziad and Old City areas of Hebron.

The over 90 hours of training includes techniques for teaching kids mathematics and writing in kindergarten; how to use music in education; how to plan teaching and different teaching skills and means.

For TIPH it is important to sponsor these kinds of initiatives, since good and confident teachers are always needed, especially in areas where kids are subject to much uncertainty and a hard environment. Due to the fact that teachers in Hebron work under hard conditions, training and input of this kind is essential to keep up spirits and engagement in their important work.

For many of the teachers it was the first time they received further training in their work. The training also turned out to be a perfect place to exchange experience and network with colleagues from other kindergartens.

As part of the training, TIPH’s Community Relations Officers held an information session about the mission, its mandate and the difficulties and the prospects of its work in Hebron. Those issues were discussed in an interactive session.

Over 30 teachers from six different kindergartens are part of the training.
