By learning the basics in marketing and sales a group of 20 women from Hebron started their vocational training to become full-fledged sales women. The women, mainly from the Israeli controlled part of the city, will finish in March, ready to be employed by local shopkeepers or maybe open their own businesses.
The training, consisting of 153 hours theoretical and practical training, is carried out by the Hebron Chamber of Commerce and Industry with support from the TIPH.
— This is the first time we carry out such a training course and it is an answer to a need for sales women that we have detected in Hebron. We have selected some highly motivated women and think this training course will prove to be beneficial both for the individual participants and for the society at large, says Taysir Said, responsible for vocational training at the Hebron Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
— The TIPH welcomes this initiative that enhances these women’s chances to find work, says Kathrine Fauske, Head of Community Relations division at the TIPH.
